Dogs of the North The Photo Album New Toys

In mid-July 2001, our friend Kathy Miller sent gifts for Kira and Chief. Kira received a miniature hedgehog that squeaks, and Chief got a combination rope toy with a sheepskin bone part that also squeaks. They love these new toys. Kira immediately took to the new baby hedgy and was fascinated by the squeaking since her larger hedgehogs make grunting noises.

It only took Kira about five minutes before she was using the baby hedgy as a hedgy chin rest just like she does with her larger hedgehogs. The odd thing was that Kira has generally never expressed any interest in toys other than hedgehogs, but she was fascinated by Chief's new toy and actually took it away from him a number of times.
