Dogs of the North The Photo Album Adam at the Metrodome

In July of 1999 the Minnesota Twins sponsored Dog Day at the Dome with proceeds to benefit our local Animal Humane Society. In attendance was Adam Taylor, an avid Twins fan (as evidenced by his Minnesota Baseball Cap!) The Twins and the Humane Society had "goodie bags" for each dog in attendance, bowls of fresh water along the walls, and a special 'dogs only' section in the General Admission seats. They even had a wading pool outside for the pups to cool their pads after the walk up the warm sidewalk to the stadium! Adam and Duffy each had a great time. Adam's name was flashed on the scoreboard when he won a pooper scooper in a drawing. The high point for him, however, was when Duffy took him to the concession stand and bought him his first ballpark hotdog. When he got to the counter in the dogs only section, he leapt up on his hind legs, planted his paws on the counter and wooed as if placing his order. Back in his seat, his Malamute voice echoed across the field as he enjoyed his treat, giving fans something to smile about in the midst of the Twins loss to the Detroit Tigers.
